New Range

Bavaria are proud to announce the completion of their Bavaria CRUISER fleet, which now consists of the Bavaria 30, 33, 39, 42, 46 and 50. All yachts benefit from new hull designs, carrying their beam further aft, affording more space below, and even more cockpit space. All models have the lighter hue mahogany, skylights in the saloon, more hatches and larger portholes, making the interior very light and airy.

See the new Bavaria 42 and the new Bavaria 46 at our stands at the Annapolis Boat Show October 6 – 10 2005.

The Bavaria 37 will be available from the middle of July 2005, replacing the current Bavaria 36. Even with the improved quality and upgraded equipment, the new Bavaria 37, available at a base price of $103 663, costs about $1300 less than a new Bavaria 37 (old model) from 2002!

The Bavaria 39 Cruiser launched in March 2005 is a stunning new performance cruiser with a 3 cabin layout and two head & shower configuration that fills the aspirations of the cruising family, the Wednesday night racer, and those looking for a daysailer or for dockside entertaining!

Please contact us for full charter specifications and pricing on this fabulous new range or for more information on Bavaria’s high performance MATCH series.

Antigua Race Week

Three Horizon Yacht Charter yachts competed in Antigua Race Week. This renowned world class sailing regatta that took place April 23 – 30, 2005, saw entries of 180+ yachts.

Despite being the second smallest boat in her class, our Bavaria 36, “Durley Dene” won her class for the second consecutive year, with four firsts and a second and was placed an impressive third overall in a fleet of over 100 yachts. Co-skippered by Horizon BVI Director, Andrew Thompson and Jon Alsop, from Alsop Sailmakers, UK, this Bavaria proved the incredible sailing capabilities of the Bavaria range. Last year she won in consistent 25 knot to 35 knot winds, this year she won in fluky 5 knot -10 knot winds! A true all-rounder. Whilst the Bavaria “Cruiser” range are so named to differentiate them from the Bavaria “Match” range of pure racers, the Cruiser range have proved over the years to be superb performance cruisers, at home on the race course, or being sailed short handed on a family cruise.

“Durley Dene” is available for purchase, and at only $125,000, with an extremely comprehensive specification, represents superb value. Horizon also currently has 3 other Bavaria 36s available for private purchase or charter management, including a 2005 model for an unbeatable $162,000.

The Bavaria 44, “Blue Loon”, with owners Ralph and Cathy Cerretani on board, secured second place in their class, against stiff competition. As relative newcomers to the racing scene, this was an outstanding achievement for Blue Loon. The yacht is a 2003 model, 3 cabin / 2 head yacht, immaculate throughout, and is for sale at an excellent price of $230,000.

“Nanuk of the North”, a Beneteau 505 was Horizon’s third boat in the regatta, skippered by Patrick Festing Smith, with co-owners Ron MacLean and Marty Fehlmann aboard calling tactics and strategy, and sometimes ably assisted by their ice hockey team mates from Toronto. They convincingly won their one design class with four firsts and a second, for a second consecutive year, in difficult conditions for these large yachts. Marty also captained his team to win the hockey competition on the English Harbour “rink” in Antigua. Congratulations!
